Psi Chi was founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is awarded to students who are majoring (or minoring) in psychology and meet the qualifications. Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Society (APS).
Vanguard University of Southern California established a local chapter of Psi Chi in 1994. Membership in Psi Chi is an earned honor which is recognized nationally. Psi Chi provides a forum for sharing information about the field of psychology, learning about educational and career opportunities, and forming meaningful professional networks. In addition, Psi Chi has a significant service component, in which we seek meaningful ways to serve those around us.
