Nancy Diaz (2013) is employed by Autism Interventions and Resources, in Laguna Hills. The agency provides Applied Behavior Analysis to children and families affected by developmental disabilities. Nancy started out as a Behavior Interventionist and has recently been promoted to Behavior Consultant. In this role, Nancy trains and observes parents, helping them to consistently apply the interventions recommended for their children.

Rachelle Garcia (2012) is a caseworker at Boys Republic, a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian school and treatment community for troubled youngsters. “I love my new job and I finally understand the feeling, ‘love what you do and you will not have to work a day in your life.’”

Psychology Graduates 2011

Ninety-two students graduated with their B.A. in psychology this May! This large group included 38 graduates of the traditional psychology major and 54 graduates of the SPS psychology major! Immediate plans include graduate school for many, marriage for some, working for most, and hopefully a little relaxation for all!

Wendy is chair of the psychology program at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she has worked for nearly nineteen years. She is presently living in Durban, South Africa, for six months on a Fulbright research fellowship to study risk and resilience in South African youth. She is looking at the role parents and families play in helping youth cope with stress.

Krista and husband Tovar were married July 17 in Camarillo. Krista is a file coordinator at Genesis Capital, a private money lending company, and is looking forward to starting coursework toward Marriage and Family Therapy licensure. They are youth leaders at La Iglesia Cristiana de Oxnard and also lead at the church’s English service.

Jenni lives in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is a mental health and chemical dependency counselor to federal and state criminal offenders. She is pursuing licensure in South Dakota and California. She hopes to return to California in the near future.
